Postdoc Project Details
The scholarship is part of project “Integrating Mitochondrial Protein Quality Control with OXPHOS Biogenesis”, by lead teacher Assistant Professor Andreas Kohler.
Project focus
Project will focus on molecular mechanisms of PQC in mitochondrially encoded proteins, The project investigates the interplay between PQC systems, mitochondrial translation, and respiratory chain complex assembly, using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as the primary research model.
Postdoctoral fellows will:
- Gain expertise in advanced biochemical, proteomic, and high-throughput methods.
- Study protein dynamics and mitochondrial functionality during aging.

Eligibility Criteria
- Doctoral degree in Biochemistry, Molecular or Cellular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Ccompleted PhD within last three (03) years
- Demonstrate a strong research background.
- Possess skills in protein biochemistry and cell/molecular biology methods.
- Previous experience with mitochondria studies
- Be familiar with S. cerevisiae as esearch model.
- Skills in high-throughput screening, flow cytometry, or advanced molecular cloning techniques.
