Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has announced that the next application round for its highly competitive Humboldt Research Fellowship will open on 15 July 2026. Fellowship is an outstanding opportunity for international researcher to avail fully funded research in Germany.
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship 2026 details
Fellowship is for international scientist and research scholars from different disciplines who completed their doctorates within last 12 years. It allows to do independent research in collaboration with a German host institution for 6 to 18 months.
Application Deadline
There is no fixed deadline. Selection Committee reviews applications two times annually: July, and November, 2026
Eligibility Criteria
- International researchers from all disciplines and nationality are eligible.
- Doctorate should be completed within the last 12 years.
- Publications in internationally recognized journals. .
- letter of invitation from academic host in Germany
- Proficiency in English/ German
